Approve minutes - Management Committee Meeting, April 2010 – Motion made by M.Drustrup, Second C. Testa, approved

Public Comment: No Public Comment

Nomination Committee Report and Election of Officers

  • NJ: Barbara Daniello (Margaret Waldock unable to attend) nominated Carol Hoffman and Chris Testa Chair and Vice chair respectively. Unanimously approved terms end 2012
  • PA: Tom Lurz and Val Sigstedt nominate Mick Drustrup and Nancy Janyszeski, Chair and Vice chair respectively. Unanimously approved terms end 2012

“The River is Flooding”

    • Who is your municipality Certified Flood Plain administrator?
      • Association of Flood Plain Managers – we need one in Pennsylvania
    • PA has 2200 municipalities, less than 30 take advantage of the community rating system
    • FEMA mitigation , Flood Insurance
      • Completely underutilized in both NJ and PA
      • The water’s Edge – Marshall Frech, flood project, PBS documentary
    • Easton PA - Nurture Nation Foundation – Focus on Floods website

  • Grant updates - Mick Drustrup
    • Payments
    • Procedures
    • 2010 grants will be the Grantee will cut a contract independent with the National Park Service
      • Delaware River Greenway Partnership grant, terminated due to lack of readiness. Money turned over to the Martin Jacoby Watershed
    • Baseline water testing, expand water coverage to macro-invertrabrate and more residents
    • Action Item (put Delaware River Basin Commission comment on the web)

 

  • Milford Mill – Carol Hoffmann
    • Last meeting was in April , lots of progress cleaning up
    • Work assessment submitted
    • Security improvements
      • Lighting, fencing, signs, boarding up
      • Next meeting the end of June -

 

  • Julie Bell and Chuck Barsz – National Park Service
    • Scenic byway brochure funding
      • Motion N. Janyszeski 2 nd N.Torkelson for $1,000 from 2008 money for about 10,000 brochures. A copy will be provided for the website.
    • Hunterdon Land Trust Agreement
      • Going for final signature
    • Martin Jacoby’s grant
      • In progress, looking to the end of July
      • Park service will provide us a copy for the website
    • 2009 approved Delaware River Basin Commission , we approved SPW monitoring program. They did send in reports including quality control plan. They have hired the interns.
